The relocation process has been built into Workday and the HR website has been updated to provide an enhanced experience for new employees and hiring managers. The most recent update includes enabling employees to submit their reimbursements directly in Workday, which builds on additional improvements to incorporate the entire relocation process in Workday. This change is reflected on the HR website , as well as the Relocation Policy, 2.30. Job aids, process information, policy links, relocation resources and contact information is also available on the website.
There are several ways to leverage Workday as part of the hiring process when you are building your team. Recent updates to the campus job posting process removed duplications, increased transparency and shortened the time for posting positions. Review the changes, which include attaching a new Campus Position Hiring Request Form in Workday and integrating financial review into the Workday process. OTDI’s Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) team has made a few updates to the academic unit structure where academic appointments are maintained in Workday. The naming convention has been updated for 55 existing Academic Units, such as “Medicine, College of” to “College of Medicine” and added 53 new academic units, such as university centers and institutes.
Colleges and units may now add academic appointments as appropriate to the new academic units for their faculty in Workday. Faculty will be able to see these new academic appointments in their Workday profile as well as on Find People once the colleges and units make the changes.
This data is maintained and updated by the colleges and units as decisions are locally managed. A list of the changes will be emailed to the HR Business Partners. In addition, you will see changes to the prompts in the “OAA - Academic Appointments” report in Workday; please be mindful during your next report run. A new Workday internal career site has tools to help employees easily navigate and apply for open opportunities across Ohio State. The “Career” section is the primary spot for information related to open faculty, staff and student positions and can be found by clicking the “Menu” icon in the upper left corner of Workday. It includes resources and training for career growth, job referral information, career level definitions, an overview of applications and enhanced search capabilities for academic and health care internal job postings. Retiree Group Term Life Insurance coverage has a new billing process for the first billing quarter of 2024. The new process will begin Friday, Dec. 1, and provides a more streamlined process with additional payment options. As a reminder, retirees elect coverage in Workday following a September implementation.
Ohio State’s Accounts Receivable now sends invoices and collects payments instead of Human Resources. Online payment is available at go.osu.edu/paymybill using an eCheck or credit/debit card, and mailing a check or money order to Accounts Receivable continues as a payment option. Retiree GTLI coverage and premium amounts will not be impacted. More information is available on the HR Life Insurance page .
