World Password Day was created by Intel in 2013 to raise awareness about the role strong passwords play in securing our digital lives.
Here at Ohio State, your password confirms your identity for the systems you can use and what data you access. However, if you participate in commerce on the internet, chances are you have plenty of passwords that can get tricky to manage.
Off the top of your head…can you remember how many online accounts you’re signed up for? What about how many accounts you’ve signed up for just in the last year? Even when simply ordering some take-out from the restaurant down the street, it can seem like the restaurant will require you to have an online account!
Keeping your Zoom app up to date on personal devices will keep you current with security patches released by Zoom, and sticking with the default settings chosen by Ohio State is the best (and easiest) way to keep unwanted guests out of your meetings. In particular, it is important to keep the required password setting ON.
