Audio-Conferencing Vendor Discontinuing Service
The provider of our audio-conferencing service, a phone-based meeting tool we have offered for several years, is discontinuing the service on Monday, Oct. 31. If you use this service, OTDI recommends that you re-schedule any upcoming meetings for which you planned to use the service before Monday, Oct. 31.
Fortunately, Ohio State has other services that active employees can use as alternatives. We suggest:
- CarmenZoom - Training guides are available in the Teaching Resource Center
- Microsoft Teams (part of Microsoft 365) - Training resources are available in the Administrative Resource Center (login required)
Both of these services offer audio-only meetings (a web cam is not required), and we have extensive training resources to help you orient to them if you have not used them in the past. The service is being retired because the industry is moving away from legacy conferencing services and replacing those services with more comprehensive unified communications solutions like Zoom and Teams.
