Dave Kieffer Retires September 30

Congratulations to Dave Kieffer, Associate Vice President of Administrative Systems, who has announced his retirement as of Monday, September 30. Dave’s leadership has left an indelible mark on the university’s administrative systems during his thirty years with Ohio State.

Dave began his career with OCIO as a student programmer. He was a part of the ARMS project in the late 1990s (which brought PeopleSoft to the university) and led the Financials 8.4 upgrade (which integrated the Medical Center into one system). In 2011, he took over Enterprise Applications, leading teams that helped create the The Ohio State App, established many new services (like BuckeyeLearn and Document Management) and prepared us to move to the cloud.

Interim coverage of Dave’s most critical responsibilities will be divided between Kevin Donahoe and Darryl Jordan. Kevin will be taking on the role of IT Business Advocate in addition to his role as a project manager on the Enterprise Project and Darryl will continue in his role leading the management of our ERP systems. Please join me in thanking Kevin and Darryl. We are evaluating the best way to allocate Dave’s remaining responsibilities to ensure seamless transition for our partners.

We will miss having his leadership in OCIO, on the Enterprise Project and in the university community. Congratulations Dave!
