Partnership Brings Enhanced IT Services and Cost Savings
It’s official. After months of behind-the-scenes tasks being checked off the list and teams working together to find the best fit for the future, Moritz College of Law is the newest member of our managed IT services family.
We’ve already collaborated on some tech changes including a server relocation which opened up extra office space and updating a computer lab. The wireless network was also enhanced, providing improved connectivity for users. As part of the IT services they are now receiving, all faculty and staff are getting new computers which began deploying at the beginning of February. Those machines will be refreshed every four years.
These tech changes and refreshes not only bring the faculty and staff some exciting things to look forward to, they also result in a significant cost savings overall. The new partnership with OCIO brings with it a 36% reduction in IT expenses for the college without a staffing reduction.
While this new partnership brings some changes, continued excellent customer service to the faculty, staff, and students was the driving force behind all changes. OCIO team members will collaborate with Moritz IT staff in providing exemplary support to the college.
At a recent Lunch and Learn, Sara Sampson, Assistant Dean for Information Services at Moritz College of Law, addressed the transformation and the reasons behind it. “We want to make sure our faculty, staff, and students are using technology to enhance their teaching and learning experiences. This new partnership will help us be more efficient, secure, and flexible in the technology that is available to everyone here at Moritz.”
The college’s focus on providing a quality and impactful experience is reflected in this transition. While a lot has already been accomplished, there is much more to come from this new partnership in technology.
