Dr. Jacquelyn Meshelemiah is passionate about fighting human trafficking. She wanted her students to be passionate too. However, when there are additional costs to a course (like expensive textbooks), some students are unable to take a class— even when the subject is something they really care about. Dr. Meshelemiah is combatting this with her newly redesigned course.
When course concepts are constantly changing, a traditional textbook becomes outdated quickly. That’s why Assistant Professor Brian Partido decided that an electronic book, or e-book, would be the right course material for his students.
Funded by the Affordable Learning Exchange (ALX) grant program , Lending Libraries not only save students money and time, but encourage recycling of frequently used materials .
