Ohio State has selected PebblePad to serve as an ePortfolio tool in support of the new General Education (GE) program . Representatives from the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) and the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) reviewed multiple tools and examined a wide variety of criteria before choosing PebblePad .
Over the winter break, updates were made to Carmen Canvas , Mediasite and Zoom to make sure these tools were ready for a new semester at Ohio State. You may notice preferred last names across Carmen, the removal of Box integrations, a new look and feel for MyMediasite and an easy way to import your Zoom cloud recordings into Mediasite .
If you are using Mediasite to store and share lecture recordings and other content, please be aware of an upcoming change to available features. At the end of autumn semester, Catalogs will be retired in favor of Channels.
We previously shared that beginning November 1, you would be prompted to update your Zoom app when joining a meeting if the app was more than 9 months old. Based on customer feedback and the upcoming holiday season, Zoom has decided to delay this change until 2022.
As an instructor at Ohio State, you might be using Mediasite to share videos and presentations with your students—but have you tried organizing your content into Channels? You can create Channels directly in the MyMediasite portal, and Channels allow you to share a group of presentations with just one URL. Think of Channels like your own personal playlists to use in your courses !
Get ready for a new semester by reviewing important updates to the eLearning toolset. Learn how the migration from Box to OneDrive could impact your CarmenCanvas course; discover a new view in CarmenZoom and learn how to add guest lecturers to your secure meetings; and make sure your Mediasite desktop recording app has been updated to the latest version.
Please join ExamSoft on Wednesday, November 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Campbell Hall 100 for the ExamSoft Showcase. Hear from your colleagues about how adopting ExamSoft has benefitted their programs, and take the opportunity to ask questions, get some tips and network.
Representatives from LabArchives will be at Ohio State to provide several training opportunities on October 23 and 24. If you’re new to LabArchives or looking for new strategies to organize your professional research, you don’t want to miss these training opportunities!
